Accountability

Corrections policy.

We would rather be right than fast, and when we are wrong we say so in the same place we made the error.

Commitment

Errors are fixed where they happened.

When a factual error is identified in an article or guide, we correct the text and append a note stating what was changed and when. We do not silently rewrite published claims. For material errors, the note appears at the top of the piece.

Matters of taste and judgement are not errors. Prices, dates, names, places and attributions are facts, and facts get corrected.

Process

How to request a correction.

Send the article link, the passage in question and the correct information with a verifiable source through the contact page, with the word Correction in the subject. Requests reach the editor responsible for the piece.

We acknowledge correction requests within two working days and resolve verified factual errors as soon as the fix is confirmed, normally within the same period. If we decline a request, we explain why.

Record

The correction stays visible.

Correction notes remain on the article for as long as the article exists. Updated pages carry their last review date so readers always know how current the information is.
