Monaco · Monte-Carlo

Luxury hotels in Monaco.

Two square kilometers, one casino square, and hotels built to make the smallest country feel like the center of the world.

The Brief

Monaco is a stage. The hotels are box seats.

The Principality compresses more theater per meter than anywhere on the Mediterranean, the casino, the port full of superyachts, the hairpin. Its grand hotels exist to give you elevation over all of it, ideally with a balcony.

Everything worth walking to radiates from Place du Casino, and the two houses on the square, Hôtel de Paris and the Hermitage, remain the correct answers. The clifftop entries just outside the border add the views the Principality itself cannot.

Insider Notes

The Grand Prix rewrites every rule.

For the race weekend in May, rooms sell as multi night packages a year out and balconies over the circuit trade like tickets. The move is a suite on the harbor side or a yacht berth in Port Hercule, and both are relationship purchases. The rest of the year, Monaco is surprisingly bookable and, in winter, quietly wonderful.

Treat the border as decoration: the Riviera palaces sit twenty minutes west, and the harbor is the natural start or end of a Mediterranean charter. Nice airport is seven minutes away by helicopter, the correct arrival.

The Luxury.it Perspective

Monaco is the only place where the view from the room includes the reason you came.

Questions

Good to know

Which hotel is best for the Monaco Grand Prix
Hôtel de Paris and the Hermitage for position and prestige, with circuit facing rooms sold as packages up to a year ahead. The Fairmont hairpin rooms and harbor yachts are the alternatives for pure track view.
Is Monaco worth visiting outside the Grand Prix
Yes, and it is easier to enjoy. Summer brings Monte-Carlo Beach and the sporting club season, while autumn and winter offer the casino, the restaurants and the coast in peace at gentler rates.
How do I get to Monaco
Fly to Nice, then seven minutes by helicopter to the Monaco heliport or thirty five by car along the corniche. The helicopter costs little more than a premium transfer and starts the trip properly.
