The Brief
Capri by day and Capri by evening are different islands.
From ten to five, ferries pour twenty thousand visitors onto four square kilometers. At six they leave, and Capri returns to the people sleeping on it. A hotel here is not accommodation, it is your membership card to the second island.

Reserve the beach clubs before the flights. La Fontelina under the Faraglioni and Il Riccio above the Grotta Azzurra are the island's real theaters, and their daybeds in season are harder than any restaurant table. Our beach club guide covers the timing.
Charter a private gozzo for at least one full circle of the island, swimming the grottos before the crowds. Capri pairs with the Amalfi Coast across the water, and the boat between them is the best commute in Europe.
