Milan has six Two-Key hotels in MICHELIN’s 2026 selection, more than any other Italian city. It has none with Three. With five One-Key hotels, the total is 11. That is up from nine. The two new names are The Carlton, a Rocco Forte Hotel, which enters at Two Keys, and Casa Brera, a Luxury Collection Hotel, at One. The other nine hold the same tier as in 2025. MICHELIN published its complete list of the Italian Keys, in Italian, on 18 September. The city totals are our count of that list, and each tier below matches the hotel’s own MICHELIN page.
The Carlton on Via Senato, the one new Two-Key name
The Carlton, a Rocco Forte Hotel, stands at Via Senato 5, and MICHELIN writes that “Milan’s mid-century Carlton is enviably placed in the Quadrilatero della Moda”. It has “42 rooms and 29 suites”, and the inspectors describe “a discreet, almost residential atmosphere”. The Irene Forte spa is on site, with two restaurants, the all-day Cafe Floretta and the fine-dining Spiga, and the Carlton Bar. The suites go up to a Two-Bedroom Presidential Suite. It is the only hotel to join Milan’s Two-Key tier in 2026.
Five Two-Key hotels that keep their place, from Via Gesù to Corso Venezia
The other five held Two Keys in 2025 as well. Two share an architect. The Bvlgari Hotel Milano, at Via Privata Fratelli Gabba 7B, has 52 rooms, and “Its design, by Antonio Citterio & Partners, is the last word in contemporary Italian luxury,” according to MICHELIN. It is “set on an acre of gardens, at the end of a private street”, and the Bvlgari Suite “spans 160 square meters”. The Mandarin Oriental Milan, at Via Andegari 9, also credits Antonio Citterio. It spans “four classic buildings around the corner from La Scala”, with 104 rooms and a spa.
The Four Seasons Hotel Milano occupies “a 15th-century monastery arranged around a tree-lined cloister” at Via Gesù 8. Patricia Urquiola redid its common areas, and “In 2025, it was the turn of the rooms, reinterpreted in a refined and cosmopolitan style by Pierre-Yves Rochon.” The spa covers 800 square metres. At Via Manzoni 29, the Grand Hotel et de Milan has 95 rooms and a famous former resident. “Giuseppe Verdi spent 27 years here,” MICHELIN writes, and Suite 105 is “the room where Maestro Verdi lived and died”. Portrait Milano, at Corso Venezia 11, occupies a 16th-century seminary that MICHELIN says “has been masterfully transformed”, with 73 rooms, “an indoor pool beneath the vaults of the old cellar” and the first Beefbar in Italy.

Together the 11 have 1,049 rooms, by our count, 513 of them at Two Keys.
Casa Brera and four more at One Key, from six rooms to 301
Casa Brera, the new One-Key hotel, gives a 1950s building a second life. “Patricia Urquiola rebuilt Pietro Lingeri’s 1950s rationalist block,” MICHELIN writes. At Piazzetta Bossi 2, it has 116 rooms, the rooftop restaurant Etereo “beside a heated outdoor pool” and La Scala “two minutes away on foot”. Casa Cipriani Milano, at Via Palestro 24, beside the Giardini Indro Montanelli, has 15 rooms and is also a members’ club, with interiors by Michele Bönan. The Hotel Principe di Savoia, at Piazza della Repubblica 17, is the largest on the list, with 301 rooms. “Room service is wheeled in by a waiter who is the essence of courtesy,” the inspectors write, and the restaurant Acanto “stays open until the wee hours of the morning.”
Palazzo Parigi Hotel & Grand Spa, at Corso di Porta Nuova 1, has 98 rooms designed by Pierre-Yves Rochon and a Moroccan-style Grand Spa. “The entry, with its marble columns and grand staircase, is as imposing as they come,” MICHELIN writes. The smallest is Vico Milano, with six rooms at Corso Genova 11, in the Navigli, “a mile to the southwest of the Duomo”. MICHELIN describes it as “a small-scale hideaway by a family that also owns the Castello di Vicarello in Tuscany”. The building was a bicycle workshop and then a fashion atelier. Its bar is the Speakeasy.
Montenapoleone and Brera hold eight of the 11
By MICHELIN’s district labels, the Keys gather in two neighbourhoods. Montenapoleone has four, all at Two Keys: The Carlton, the Four Seasons, the Grand Hotel et de Milan and Portrait. Brera has four more, the Bvlgari and the Mandarin Oriental at Two, Casa Brera and Palazzo Parigi at One. Every Two-Key hotel in the city is in one of the two. The other three sit further out, Casa Cipriani at Porta Venezia, the Principe di Savoia by the Stazione Centrale and Vico Milano in the Navigli. A few designers recur across the list. Antonio Citterio worked at the Bvlgari and the Mandarin Oriental, Michele Bönan at Portrait and Casa Cipriani, Pierre-Yves Rochon in the rooms of the Four Seasons and Palazzo Parigi, and Patricia Urquiola at Casa Brera and the Four Seasons. In Montenapoleone, Dior opened its Milan restaurant at Via Monte Napoleone 12 in September, as in our piece on Monsieur Dior by Enrico Bartolini.
The Luxury.it perspective
Milan’s Keys follow the way the city is used. The Two-Key hotels sit within a short walk of the fashion houses and La Scala, and the One-Key list adds the range, from a members’ club near the public gardens to a grand hotel by the station and six rooms in the Navigli. Depth is the city’s strength. Six hotels at Two Keys is a number no other Italian city matches. For the calendar, the men’s shows run from 15 to 19 January 2027 and the women’s from 23 February to 1 March, as in our Fashion Week calendar, and those are the weeks to book first. More is on the way, with Six Senses due in Brera in early 2027, as in our report on the 2027 openings. For dinner, our guide to the best restaurants in Milan starts where the hotels are.
