Michelin Keys 2026 Lake Garda: all 6 hotels, from Limone to Sirmione

By Camilla De SantisOctober 26, 20265 min readDestinations Desk

At Arco, a converted winery with six suites holds the same One MICHELIN Key as Lefay’s 93 rooms. That is the range of Lake Garda’s list. MICHELIN’s 2026 selection gives the lake six hotels, the same six at the same tiers as in 2025. EALA My Lakeside Dream, at Limone sul Garda, holds Two Keys, and Lefay Resort & Spa Lago di Garda, Villa Cortine, Cape of Senses, Lido Palace and Vivere Suites and Rooms hold One. They are spread across three regions: three on the Lombard shore, one in the Veneto and two in Trentino, at the northern tip. There is no Three-Key hotel on the lake. Together the six have 312 rooms, by our count. The tiers come from MICHELIN’s complete list of the Italian Keys, published in Italian on 18 September.

Six hotels in three regions: the Garda list as MICHELIN prints it

Tiers and towns are as MICHELIN prints them, and room counts are those on each hotel’s MICHELIN page.

Keys Hotel Town Shore Rooms
Two EALA My Lakeside Dream Limone sul Garda West, Lombardy 62
One Vivere Suites and Rooms Arco North, Trentino 6
One Lefay Resort & Spa Lago di Garda Gargnano West, Lombardy 93
One Lido Palace Riva del Garda North, Trentino 42
One Villa Cortine Sirmione South, Lombardy 54
One Cape of Senses Torri del Benaco East, Veneto 55

We count the lake towns and Arco, which MICHELIN’s own address files under Lake Garda. Two more Key hotels are in the province of Verona: Byblos Art Hotel Villa Amistà, in the Valpolicella, and Vista Verona, in the city. Both are inland, so neither is counted.

EALA at Limone sul Garda: 62 rooms at Two Keys

EALA, at Via IV Novembre 86 in Limone sul Garda, takes its name from the Celtic word for swan, and it aims for “a tranquil, private, and romantic atmosphere”. Children are welcome from the age of 16. “Its terraced construction gives its suites plentiful private balcony space”, MICHELIN writes, and “its minimalist, modernist-inspired interiors are nothing if not refined”. “Glass-walled bathrooms and/or in-room soaking tubs increase the intimacy”. The spa has indoor and outdoor pools, a sauna and a Turkish bath, and “the spa is a refuge for body and mind”, in the inspectors’ words. Its restaurant, Senso Lake Garda Alfio Ghezzi, holds a MICHELIN Star in the current guide, beside “the less formal Alfio Ghezzi Bistrot”, and the 2027 guide for Italy is unveiled in Piacenza on 12 November, as in our calendar of the ceremonies.

Lefay at Gargnano and Villa Cortine at Sirmione

Lefay Resort & Spa Lago di Garda stands at Via Feltrinelli 136 in Gargnano. Its 93 rooms make it the largest on the list. It is “this secluded mountaintop retreat” above the west shore, with “25 acres of parkland for anything from running to lounging”, several pools and meditation gardens, and its buildings are “modeled on the terraced homes of those lucky enough to live in the so-called Lemon Riviera year-round”. Inside, the surfaces are Italian walnut and marble. MICHELIN calls it “balm for souls made weary by the world”. Its sister, Lefay Resort & Spa Dolomiti at Pinzolo, holds Two Keys on the Dolomites list. The Garda resort was a finalist for wellness at the Best Luxury Hotel Awards, as in our report on the finalists.

At the southern end of the lake, on the narrow peninsula of Sirmione, Villa Cortine stands at Viale Gennari 2. “Villa Cortine, once a count’s residence, sits on a hill above the town center”, MICHELIN writes. Its 54 rooms are split between the original Palladian villa and “an addition that dates back to the opening of the hotel in the Fifties”, and “the style is resolutely old-world, with 18th-century furniture and Murano glass chandeliers”. There is a clay tennis court, “a Bisazza mosaic swimming pool” and a private pier, with a speedboat for trips on the lake. Le Gardenie looks over the water, and “the seasonal Al Molo, serving wood-fired meat and seafood” opens in summer. MICHELIN’s verdict on the lake itself: “Lake Garda is something special indeed”.

Cape of Senses, Lido Palace and Vivere: the east shore and the north

On the Veneto shore, Cape of Senses, at Località le Sorte in Torri del Benaco, is a purpose-built wellness resort “800 feet above the lakeshore”, with 55 rooms. “Cape of Senses ascends to new heights”, MICHELIN writes. It takes adults only. “Some suites come with private infinity-edge pools”, and “every unit looks out over the lake from full-length windows and private terraces”. There are two restaurants, a large spa and pools indoors and out.

At the northern tip, the Lido Palace, at Viale Carducci 10 in Riva del Garda, “just squeaks into the 19th-century club, founded in 1899”, and was later “radically transformed by Alberto Cecchetto’s avant-architectural genius”. Its dining room is “a glass-and-metal marvel stretching nearly to the lake”. The 42 rooms come “with a comforting, chocolate-on-white color scheme”, and the bathrooms have rain showers, soaking tubs and underfloor heating. The spa has heated pools indoors and out.

Arco, a few kilometres inland, has the smallest hotel on the list.

“this is not exactly the postcard version of the Italian lake country”

That is MICHELIN on Vivere Suites and Rooms, at Via Gobbi 30. “The estate is a converted winery, and still serves wine made from grapes grown in the hotel’s own vineyards”, with olive oil from its own gardens. It has six suites, “four with kitchens, two juniors without”, a natural saltwater pool, yoga and treatments rooted in Chinese medicine. There is no restaurant, only an honesty bar. As MICHELIN puts it, “a hotel this small can’t help but maintain a very personal approach to service”.

The Luxury.it perspective

Lake Garda’s list is about wellness as much as views. The spas run from Lefay’s parkland above Gargnano to Cape of Senses on its hillside, and even the six-suite estate at Arco has yoga. The north and the south feel like different lakes, with the mountains around Riva and Arco and the villas and gardens of Sirmione. Garda has no Three-Key hotel and six Key hotels in all; Lake Como, by comparison, has eight, with one at Three, as in our list for Lake Como. The pages give no opening dates. Summer 2027 adds one more reason to plan ahead: the Arena di Verona opera season, under an hour from the southern shore, as in our guide to the 2027 programme.
