Luxury fashion has stopped waiting for customers to enter boutiques.
In summer 2026, the boutiques are following the customers to the coast.
This is not new in the absolute sense. Fashion houses have been opening seasonal stores in Capri, Saint-Tropez, Ibiza and the Riviera for years. What is different now is the scale and the ambition. Beach clubs, hotel terraces, rocky coves, restaurants and even resort boats are being turned into branded summer environments.
The bad version is easy to spot: a logo on a towel, a parasol in house colours, a few branded cushions and a pop-up boutique that feels like airport retail with better light.
The good version is rarer. It happens when the takeover does not flatten the place, but sharpens it.
That only works when the hotel, beach club or cove had enough identity before the logo arrived.
This is the Luxury.it edit of the designer beach clubs that actually matter in Europe in 2026. Not the loudest. The ones that make sense.
1. Dioriviera at Il Riccio, Capri
Best for Capri as high-summer theatre
Dior at Capri works because Capri has always been half island, half stage.
For summer 2026, Dioriviera returned to Il Riccio, the Jumeirah Capri Palace restaurant and beach club above the Blue Grotto. Jumeirah’s 2026 reopening announcement confirms the renewed collaboration with Dior at Il Riccio, while describing the restaurant’s cliffside position above the turquoise Mediterranean.
This is not a normal beach club. Il Riccio is not sand-and-umbrella Capri. It is rock, terrace, sea, lunch, boat access, white-blue geometry and the feeling that the island is best understood when you approach it from the water.
Dior belongs here because the takeover can use Capri’s existing theatricality. It does not need to invent glamour. The island already did that work.
Go if: you want Capri at its most polished and photogenic.
Avoid if: you want quiet, or the rustic kind of authenticity.
Luxury.it note: Dior at Il Riccio works because Capri can absorb the brand. A weaker destination would look swallowed.
2. Gucci at La Rose des Vents, Monaco
Best for Monaco as controlled glamour
Gucci at La Rose des Vents is one of the strongest matches of brand and place.
La Rose des Vents describes itself as a beachfront destination in Monaco that becomes an exclusive beach club during summer, and its site specifically flags Gucci Summer at La Rose. Hero Magazine reports that Gucci returned to La Rose des Vents for a second edition, bringing its Flora motif to Monaco until October.
This makes sense because Monaco is not trying to be natural. It is money as geography. A beach club here does not need to pretend it is a quiet Mediterranean village. It needs control, polish, service, recognisable codes and enough restraint not to tip into parody.
Gucci’s Flora motif has a Monaco connection through Princess Grace, which gives the project more legitimacy than a random pattern takeover.
Go if: you want fashion, Monaco, sea and a very controlled luxury scene.
Avoid if: you want beach informality.
Luxury.it note: Gucci works in Monaco because Monaco is already a curated environment. The danger is excess; the strength is context.
3. Longchamp Beach Club at Bagno Felice 1, Forte dei Marmi
Best for quiet destination retail
Longchamp is a smarter takeover than it first appears.
The brand has taken over Bagno Felice 1 in Forte dei Marmi, with the Longchamp page confirming the address at Viale Italico 53 and daily opening from 15 June to the end of September, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The nearby Longchamp store is also selling an exclusive limited-edition Le Pliage Monde Forte dei Marmi.
This is exactly how fashion should use Forte dei Marmi. Not by making the town louder. Forte is already social, but not in the same way as Saint-Tropez or Ibiza. Its power is repetition: the same beach club, the same family, the same bicycle, the same table, the same summer habits.
Longchamp fits because it does not need to turn Forte into a party. It can work through useful objects, beach rhythm and recognisable but not aggressive branding.
Go if: you want a fashionable beach moment that still feels Forte.
Avoid if: you want nightclub energy or maximalist visuals.
Luxury.it note: Longchamp at Bagno Felice 1 is the most discreetly intelligent takeover on this list. It understands that Forte dei Marmi rewards understatement.
4. Dolce & Gabbana at Le Carillon, Portofino
Best for Ligurian maximalism
Dolce & Gabbana at Le Carillon is almost too obvious. That is why it works.
Dolce & Gabbana’s official DG Resort 2026 page confirms the takeover at Le Carillon in Paraggi, near Portofino, placing the beach club inside one of the most recognisable settings of the Ligurian Riviera. Le Carillon itself describes the venue as a beach club, restaurant, bar and nightclub in Paraggi bay, five minutes from Portofino.
This is not a subtle combination. Portofino is already cinematic. Paraggi is already beautiful. Dolce & Gabbana brings colour, decoration, Italian maximalism and an almost operatic Mediterranean language.
The risk is obvious: too much pattern, too much performance, too much brand. But Portofino can hold more theatre than most of the Italian coast. It has been doing that long before social media.
Go if: you want Portofino with full Italian fashion energy.
Avoid if: you prefer Liguria quiet, linen and understatement.
Luxury.it note: Dolce & Gabbana at Le Carillon is not restrained. But in Portofino, restraint is not always the point.
5. Burberry at Hôtel Belles Rives, Antibes
Best for Riviera memory
Burberry at Belles Rives is strong because Belles Rives is not a blank canvas.
The hotel’s official page confirms the Burberry beach takeover for summer 2026, with Burberry’s check reinterpreted in the blue of Belles Rives across the beach club, terraces, original 1920s lift, private jetty and beach club doors, running until 30 September. The collaboration also includes ice lollies, terrace moments at the Fitzgerald Bar and waterskiing experiences.
This is the detail that matters: waterskiing.
A weak fashion takeover only dresses the furniture. A better one enters the behaviour of the place. Belles Rives has Riviera memory, Art Deco atmosphere and Juan-les-Pins literary history. Burberry does not need to create all the culture. It can borrow carefully from what is already there.
Go if: you want a takeover with real Riviera setting and hotel memory.
Avoid if: you want the newest, loudest beach club.
Luxury.it note: Burberry works because Belles Rives has enough identity to resist being reduced to a logo.
6. Casablanca at Six Senses Ibiza
Best for northern Ibiza mood
Casablanca at Six Senses Ibiza is not the obvious Ibiza choice. That is useful.
Casablanca’s own site confirms a summer 2026 residency at Six Senses Ibiza, launching 22 June, with a takeover of the hotel’s Rocky Beach and a concept that pairs the brand’s French-Moroccan duality with Ibiza’s northern coastline.
This matters because Ibiza is often sold through the wrong energy. Cala Jondal, beach clubs, parties, villas, Formentera runs, late dinners. That Ibiza exists. But Six Senses sits in the north, where the island can feel more spiritual, more design-led, more connected to landscape and wellness.
Casablanca’s language, colour, leisure, Mediterranean fantasy and club culture, fits if it does not become too loud.
Go if: you want fashion, design and a less obvious Ibiza base.
Avoid if: you want classic southern Ibiza beach-club theatre.
Luxury.it note: Casablanca at Six Senses is the takeover for people who want Ibiza to feel curated, not consumed.
7. Farm Rio in Ibiza and Saint-Tropez
Best for destination retail with joy
Farm Rio’s 2026 European summer strategy is less old luxury and more cultural energy.
WWD reported that Farm Rio planned a quartet of European summer takeovers, including Saint-Tropez and an Ibiza activation at Casa Jondal. L’Officiel Ibiza described the Ibiza pop-up at Particular, next to Casa Jondal, as a bright Carioca summer by the sea.
This belongs in the edit because not every successful resort fashion moment has to be heritage luxury. Farm Rio brings colour, movement, Brazilian joy and a less stiff approach to destination retail. In Ibiza, that makes sense. In Saint-Tropez, it can either lighten the mood or become another layer of summer noise, depending on how it is used.
Go if: you want colour, print, energy and a less formal fashion moment.
Avoid if: you want quiet luxury or old Riviera codes.
Luxury.it note: Farm Rio is not trying to be Dior or Gucci. That is why it has a place in the summer map.

Can the place hold the logo?
Do not visit a designer beach club only because of the brand. That is the most obvious error.
A fashion takeover works only when the place already makes sense. Dior cannot rescue a bad Capri plan. Gucci cannot make Monaco informal. Longchamp cannot turn Forte dei Marmi into a nightclub, and should not try. Burberry works because Belles Rives has memory. Dolce & Gabbana works because Portofino can carry theatre. The same test applies to every coast, including the beach clubs of Costa Smeralda.
The question is not whether the logo is famous. The question is whether the destination can hold it.
Luxury.it perspective
Designer beach clubs are becoming one of the clearest signs of where European luxury is going. Fashion is no longer only bought. It is visited, eaten beside, photographed, lived inside for one afternoon, and remembered as part of a summer itinerary. That can become vulgar very quickly. The best takeovers avoid it by respecting the place. In 2026, the strongest fashion beach clubs are not the ones with the biggest logo. They are the ones that understand where they have landed.
