The 8 Best Restaurants in Porto Rotondo for Summer 2026

By Alessandro ContiJuly 14, 202612 min readOpenings Desk

Last verified: 14 July 2026

Porto Rotondo is routinely described as Porto Cervo’s quieter cousin. It is also one of those phrases that becomes less useful every time it is repeated.

The two destinations do not merely operate at different volumes. They eat differently.

Porto Cervo has become increasingly defined by international names, headline openings and restaurants designed to carry an entire evening. Porto Rotondo is less easily reduced to one scene. Its best tables are divided between the marina, the small piazzas above it, the hills of Monte Ladu overlooking the Gulf of Cugnana and the countryside around Rudalza.

That geography creates a problem for visitors. Online, restaurants several kilometres apart are all presented as though they occupy the same waterfront. A reservation described as “Porto Rotondo” might mean walking from your hotel, taking a short taxi into the hills or driving around the bay.

This guide therefore does not rank eight restaurants as though they were interchangeable. It explains what each one is for, where it actually sits and which kind of meal justifies the journey.

How we selected these restaurants: Luxury.it included only restaurants showing a Google rating of 4.3 or higher when checked on 14 July 2026. We also considered the number of reviews, current seasonal activity and whether each restaurant offered a genuinely distinct reason to visit. New openings without a reliable review history were not ranked. Ratings are a snapshot and may change.

Every restaurant below was operating, publishing current 2026 information or accepting reservations when checked on 14 July 2026. Seasonal schedules can change quickly, particularly outside August. Confirm directly before travelling.

For the wider region, including Porto Cervo, San Pantaleo, Baja Sardinia and inland Gallura, read our complete guide to the best restaurants in Costa Smeralda.

Part I

Porto Rotondo centre and marina

The centre works on foot. Its restaurants face different sections of the marina, occupy the village’s small piazzas or sit a few minutes above the water. This is the part of Porto Rotondo where choosing the correct atmosphere matters as much as choosing the cuisine.

01Seafood · Piazza Rudalza · Sunset table

Il Baretto

The name understates the restaurant. Il Baretto is not simply a place for a drink before dinner; it is one of the more useful seafood reservations in central Porto Rotondo.

Its terrace overlooks the marina from Piazza Rudalza, making the earlier dinner slots particularly attractive. The current menu remains focused enough to inspire confidence: local clams with bottarga, egg fettuccine with sea urchin and paccheri with rock fish, confit tomatoes and basil oil.

The restaurant does not need to transform seafood into a performance. Its strength lies in a short distance between setting, ingredient and plate.

What to orderSpaghetti with local clams and mullet bottarga, fettuccine with sea urchin or the freshest available fish.

Best forSunset, seafood, couples and diners seeking a polished marina table without the scale of a resort restaurant.

02Restaurant and live show · Piazza Bianca · Dinner into nightlife

AMI Porto Rotondo

AMI is designed around the belief that the night should not require several addresses.

The villa-style space combines restaurant, cocktail bar, live performances and DJ sets. It currently operates from breakfast through lunch, aperitivo and dinner, but its strongest reason for inclusion is the transition after sunset.

This is not Porto Rotondo’s most food-obsessed reservation. It is the useful choice when the group wants to dine, drink and remain in the same atmosphere without arranging a second booking or moving to a club.

What to orderLet dinner remain relatively direct and use the cocktail and entertainment programme as part of the evening rather than treating them as interruptions.

Best forBirthdays, groups, music, drinks after dinner and guests who do not want to change location.

03Latin American and sushi · One address, two souls · DJ sets

Carmen / Amazônia

Carmen and Amazônia share the same address on Via Cassiopea and should be understood as one destination with two personalities rather than two separate bookings.

Carmen is the Latin American half: an atmospheric bodega built around Mexican cooking, tequila and mezcal. Amazônia is the second register, moving through sushi, cocktails and DJ sets as the evening advances. Between them, the address covers dinner, drinks and the part of the night that usually requires a transfer elsewhere.

The two formats also hold the strongest public scores in central Porto Rotondo, with Google ratings of 4.6 and 4.7 at verification. Book by deciding which of the two souls the evening belongs to, then let the address handle the rest.

What to orderAt Carmen, follow the Mexican kitchen and the agave list. At Amazônia, build the table around sushi and cocktails rather than forcing a full three-course structure.

Best forGroups, birthdays, a night that moves from dinner to DJ sets and diners who want something other than another seafood terrace.

Part II

Monte Ladu and the hills

These tables sit a short drive above the marina, where Porto Rotondo turns panoramic. This is where the destination keeps its most serious contemporary Sardinian kitchen and its fire-led alternatives to another seafood dinner, with the Gulf of Cugnana doing part of the work.

04Contemporary Sardinian · Gulf of Cugnana · All-day hotel restaurant

Pasigà

Pasigà occupies Sulià House above the Gulf of Cugnana, but the food does not rely on the view to justify the journey.

The restaurant takes Sardinian ingredients and traditions as material rather than decoration, with a bistronomic approach guided by Sardinian chef Claudio Melis. Familiar products are observed from a modern angle, but the cooking remains understandable. That matters in a region where “contemporary Sardinian” can sometimes mean the island has disappeared beneath the presentation.

Pasigà also works across the day. Breakfast, lunch, aperitivo and dinner are all published, while a dedicated wine cellar concentrates on Sardinian producers, local charcuterie and cheese.

What to orderChoose the current dishes with the clearest local provenance and spend time with the Sardinian wine selection rather than automatically requesting an international label.

Best forModern Sardinian cooking, a sunset aperitivo, a food-focused hotel dinner and wine drinkers.

05Brazilian churrascaria · Pool terrace · Sea view

Jacanà Churrascaria

Jacanà answers the question that seafood destinations often ignore: where to go when the table wants meat, space and a view rather than another marina terrace.

The Brazilian churrascaria sits on Monte Ladu with a poolside setting and a sea view, serving rodizio-style grilled meat with live music through the summer evenings. The format does the ordering for you: cuts arrive in succession until the table surrenders.

Its Google score is the strongest argument for inclusion: 4.6 at verification, built on a substantial number of reviews rather than a handful of friendly ones.

What to orderThe full rodizio. Arrive hungry, pace the early rounds and do not fill up before the better cuts appear.

Best forMeat after several seafood dinners, groups, celebrations and a panoramic evening above the coast.

06Churrasco and tequila · Established name · Meat-led evening

Cãrnesa

Cãrnesa is the consolidated churrascaria of the hill, part of a brand that also operates in Rome, and it has earned its following the slow way: 4.4 on Google across several hundred reviews at verification.

The formula pairs Brazilian-style churrasco with a serious agave list, which explains the full name: churrasco and tequila. It is less panoramic than Jacanà and closer to the centre, which makes it the practical choice when the table wants the meat ritual without building the whole evening around the drive.

What to orderThe churrasco selection, paced properly, with the tequila and cocktail list treated as part of the format rather than an afterthought.

Best forMeat lovers, groups splitting the difference between dinner and drinks and a reliable non-seafood evening near the centre.

Part III

Rudalza and traditional Sardinia

Rudalza is a short drive around the bay and should be treated as a separate journey. The reward is Sardinian cooking without staging: a countryside locanda that has fed the area for more than twenty years and a local table that never needed a concept.

07Google 4.6 · Traditional Gallurese · Fixed feast

Locanda Rudalza

Locanda Rudalza is the reason this guide exists: the address a purely fashionable list would miss and the one readers thank you for afterwards.

Set in the green countryside just outside the village, the locanda has spent more than twenty years privileging local, often zero-kilometre products, cooked according to tradition. The format is the point: a long fixed progression of Sardinian and Gallurese courses, around twelve plates at a price that reads like a misprint after a week on the coast, with the verandas looking towards the Cugnana countryside.

Its Google profile is the strongest in this guide relative to its scale: 4.6 at verification across roughly 880 reviews. That is not a lucky average. It is two decades of the same family doing the same thing well.

What to orderNothing individually. Take the fixed menu, pace yourself through the antipasti and arrive with the whole evening available.

Best forThe one traditional feast of the holiday, families, groups and anyone who wants Sardinia on the plate rather than in the decor.

08Local seafood · Rudalza · No performance required

Sa Runda

Sa Runda is one of the addresses that a purely luxury-led list would overlook and a genuinely useful guide should retain.

Located on the road to Porto Rotondo, immersed in Mediterranean greenery, it offers Sardinian and Italian seafood in a more straightforward setting than the centre’s designed terraces. The menu is relatively focused, the portions are known for being generous and current diners continue to mention local pasta, seafood and traditional dishes rather than novelty ingredients.

Book it when you want dinner to feel local and recognisable rather than internationally programmed.

What to orderAsk about the local pasta, seafood of the day, malloreddus or Gallurese dishes available that evening.

Best forA relaxed dinner, local cooking, families and visitors prioritising food over fashion.

A private table worth knowing: Yacht Club Porto Rotondo

The Yacht Club restaurant does not appear among the eight public recommendations because access is principally intended for members and their guests.

For those with access, however, it is one of the marina’s most relevant tables. The clubhouse veranda overlooks the moored yachts and operates from May to October, serving breakfast, brunch, lunch, aperitivo and dinner. The kitchen focuses on contemporary Sardinian food, local fish, selected meat and an island-led wine list. Address: Piazza Yacht Club Porto Rotondo 1; club phone +39 0789 34145. The club explicitly states that its restaurant primarily serves members and their guests.

What is the best restaurant in Porto Rotondo?

For the most serious contemporary Sardinian dinner, choose Pasigà. For the traditional feast, choose Locanda Rudalza. For seafood beside the marina at sunset, choose Il Baretto. There is no single correct answer, because they solve completely different evenings.

Where should I eat traditional Sardinian food near Porto Rotondo?

Locanda Rudalza offers the complete experience: a long fixed progression of Sardinian and Gallurese courses in the countryside, built on local products and twenty years of the same family cooking. Sa Runda is the more informal alternative for local seafood and traditional dishes.

Which Porto Rotondo restaurants have the best views?

Pasigà looks across the Gulf of Cugnana, Jacanà combines its pool terrace with a sea view from Monte Ladu, and Il Baretto faces the marina at sunset.

Where can I eat meat in Porto Rotondo?

The hill above the village concentrates the alternatives to seafood: Jacanà for the panoramic Brazilian rodizio and Cãrnesa for the established churrasco-and-tequila format. Carmen adds a Latin American register closer to the centre.

Which restaurants are in the centre, near the marina?

Il Baretto and AMI sit in the village piazzas, while Carmen / Amazônia is a short walk above the port on Via Cassiopea. Everything in Part II and Part III requires a short drive.

Is Porto Rotondo or Porto Cervo better for restaurants?

Porto Cervo currently offers more international brands, headline openings and high-energy destination restaurants. Porto Rotondo has a smaller but more varied local ecosystem, with stronger contrasts between marina tables, fire-led kitchens in the hills and traditional Sardinian cooking around Rudalza. For the other side of the coast, read our dedicated guide to the best restaurants in Porto Cervo.

The Porto Rotondo rule

Do not book five versions of the same dinner.

Choose Pasigà for the kitchen. Protect one traditional evening at Locanda Rudalza. Use Il Baretto when the marina itself should remain part of dinner, and Carmen / Amazônia or AMI when the night is supposed to continue.

Then keep one meal uncomplicated. Porto Rotondo becomes far more enjoyable once every reservation is no longer required to prove how expensive the summer is.
