Michelin Keys 2026 Barcelona: all 18 hotels, from Tibidabo to the sea

By Camilla De SantisOctober 29, 20265 min readDestinations Desk

METT Barcelona sits a thousand feet above the city, and its 37-metre steel pool runs indoors and out. It is one of four hotels new to MICHELIN’s Barcelona list for 2026, with Miramar Barcelona on Montjuïc, Neri in the Gothic Quarter and Sofitel Barcelona Skipper at La Barceloneta. By our count the city has 18 Key hotels, more than any other in Spain: Mandarin Oriental Barcelona at Two Keys and 17 hotels at One, with 1,647 rooms between them. None holds Three. The four newcomers account for a quarter of the 16 hotels that enter Spain’s One-Key tier this year. The tiers come from MICHELIN’s 2026 list for Spain, published in Spanish on 18 September. Restaurant Stars quoted below are as the hotels’ MICHELIN pages give them. They may change soon. MICHELIN presents its 2027 selection for Spain on 24 November, as in our calendar of the ceremonies.

Eighteen hotels, from the Tibidabo to the beach: the Barcelona list

Neighbourhoods are as MICHELIN labels them, and room counts come from the header of each hotel’s MICHELIN page.

The Eixample, with Passeig de Gràcia, has six of the 18, and the old town, from the Gothic Quarter to La Barceloneta, has seven, while Hotel Arts is the largest, with 432 rooms, and ABaC the smallest, with 15. All but one list a pool. Seven are on a roof.

Four new names: METT, Miramar, Neri and the Sofitel Skipper

METT Barcelona is “equal parts city boutique and luxury resort”, on the road up the Tibidabo, with 70 rooms, a free shuttle to Passeig de Gràcia and a Valmont spa. Its restaurant is Albarada, and its 1925 Vermutería bar is named for the year the hotel first opened. On the other side of the city, Miramar Barcelona is a Twenties palace that “sat disused on a Montjuïc hillside for decades” until the architect Oscar Tusquets added a terraced modern wing. “Score one for historic preservation, as well as one for modern architecture”, MICHELIN writes. It has 75 rooms, gardens over the port, an indoor pool and Le Forestier, a modern Spanish restaurant.

Neri has 22 rooms and six apartments in two historic buildings, one of them a 12th-century palace. Its restaurant is “the only one in the square”, Plaça de Sant Felip Neri, and a small rooftop pool and bar look over the Gothic Quarter. Sofitel Barcelona Skipper, at La Barceloneta, “reopened in 2022 after a full transformation” with 225 rooms, one pool on the ground floor and another on the roof, and the Tendiez restaurant. Somorrostro beach is three minutes away. As MICHELIN notes, “beachfront hotels this close to the center remain rare”.

Passeig de Gràcia and the Eixample: the Mandarin Oriental and five more

Mandarin Oriental Barcelona, the city’s only Two-Key hotel, has 120 rooms “in a classic bank building that’s the better part of a century old” on Passeig de Gràcia. The rooms are by Patricia Urquiola. Cocktails at Bankers Bar come “under a ceiling of old safety deposit boxes”, Moments serves Catalan cuisine, and the pool deck is on the roof. Further up the avenue, Monument Hotel has 84 rooms in a 19th-century building and Lasarte, which its MICHELIN page calls “a three-star restaurant by Martín Berasategui”. Casa Batlló and La Pedrera are a few minutes away on foot.

Four One-Key hotels sit in the grid of the Eixample Dreta. Alma Barcelona, with 72 rooms, is “just off the legendary shoppers’ boulevard Passeig de Gràcia”, and its interiors are “all minimalist subtlety”. Almanac Barcelona, on Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, has 91 rooms by the designer Jaime Beriestain, a plant-based restaurant, Virens, and Azimuth on the roof. Beriestain also designed The One Barcelona, whose 89 rooms include private terraces with “spectacular views of the Sagrada Familia”, and Seventy Barcelona, the biggest of the four with 152 rooms, opened in 2019 with a lobby that mixes “bookstore, coffee shop, art gallery, and co-working venue”.

The Gothic Quarter, the port and the hills

Mercer Barcelona has 28 rooms built into “an ancient defense tower”, with a courtyard “where 17th-century columns loom over orange trees”, a rooftop pool and a terrace bar facing the cathedral. Soho House Barcelona occupies an 18th-century building in the Gothic Quarter, with 57 rooms, Cecconi’s and a members’ rooftop over Port Vell. The Wittmore takes adults only. It has 22 rooms, wood panelling, red velvet and a fireplace, and the roof terrace is “especially enchanting at sunset”. Nearby, Serras Barcelona, on the Passeig de Colom, has 28 rooms and a “marina-facing rooftop pool deck”, and Antiga Casa Buenavista, where El Raval meets the Eixample, has 43 rooms and Casa de Comidas, whose dining room opens onto a terrace by Plaza Goya.

By the sea, Hotel Arts Barcelona is “a striking feat of architecture”, a 44-floor skyscraper and “a Ritz-Carlton hotel”, and its MICHELIN page names “the two-MICHELIN-Star Enoteca Paco Pérez” as the star of the show. Up the hill on the Avinguda del Tibidabo, two small houses complete the list. ABaC Restaurant & Hotel has 15 rooms, a spa with a thermal pool and, in the words of its MICHELIN page, “a kitchen that’s been awarded three Michelin stars under chef Jordi Cruz”. Mirlo Barcelona, a villa with 16 rooms and a courtyard pool, is one of the few Key hotels outside the centre.

The Luxury.it perspective

Barcelona’s list is wide rather than tall. There is no Three-Key hotel and only one with Two, but no Spanish city has more Key hotels. The best tables come with rooms: ABaC and the Monument, at One Key, hold restaurants that MICHELIN’s pages give three Stars. The choice depends on what the stay is for. The Eixample is for Gaudí and the shops, the Gothic Quarter for small hotels in old buildings, the Tibidabo hotels for quiet and a view, and the seafront for Hotel Arts and the Sofitel Skipper. For Madrid, the 13 Key hotels are in our Madrid list.
